The
Holy Trinity
"In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without
form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
Genesis 1:1-2
"God, who at sundry times
and in divers manners (many ways) spake (or spoke) in time
past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days
spoken to us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all
things, by whom also He made the worlds; who being the
brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and
upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by himself
purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”
-Hebrews 1:1-3
This reality as we know it was created
many thousands of years ago by three very powerful entities. These three
entities have come to be known as the Holy Trinity. They consist of God the Father, God the Son
and God the Holy Spirit.
The first of the three I would like to
speak about is God the Father. From a Christian's point of
view, God is everything. God is the reason for living. The reason I wake
up in the morning is God. He surrounds me and completes me.
“Every man also to whom God hath
given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to
take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God
answereth him in the joy of his heart.” -Ecclesiastes 5:19-20
God creates in me a joyful heart and in
return I am ultimately motivated by the brevity of my own life. This joy
or divine security can only come from God. A person or thing cannot
create in you divine security, only God can.
So why is God so important to a
Born Again Christian like me? Besides the joyful heart and divine security that I
get from God the Father, what motivates me to serve Him?
I will tell you what or who motivates me,
it is God the Son, Jesus Christ. I was recreated by Jesus Christ when he
died for my sins on the cross of Calvary. Jesus Christ is the second
part of the Holy Trinity and the Son of His Majesty, God. It is Jesus
who motivates me to serve His Father, God.
“Jesus said unto him, thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind.” -Matthew 22:37
Jesus Christ is the reason for my
salvation from Hell. Some may say that Jesus was merely an archangel
from God and that He wasn’t God’s only Son, but those rumors are
false. Be careful of false doctrine and followers of the antichrist
movements. Believe in the word of God and follow it closely.
“The next day John seeth Jesus
coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away
the sin of the world.” -John 1:29
“These shall make war with the Lamb,
and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of
kings, and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”
-Revelation 17:14
The third spiritual being in this Holy
Trinity is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the force by which God
the Father and God the Son works within our lives. It’s movement
through us and about us creates within us a Holiness like unto God’s.
“But the Comforter, which is the
Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said
unto you.” - John 14:26
Like many
Born Again Christians, I can feel the Holy
Spirit work through me. This spirit guides me through life’s trials
and protects me in the face of diversity. It is my link to God’s
spiritual web. When I am being tempted, the Holy Spirit reminds me that
I must stay on the path of righteousness and not stray.
I believe that the more faithful and true
that you are to God, the more the Holy Spirit will become apparent in
your life. I believe it opens your mind and heart up to certain
possibilities that you wouldn’t normally be able to comprehend. The
spirit gives us peace of mind and a better understanding of what it is
to be a born again Christian.
“And Stephen, full of faith and
power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.” -Acts 6:8
But then, certain men, the elders and the
scribes arrested Stephen for his Christian acts.
“And set up false witnesses, which
said, this man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy
place, and the law:” -Acts 6:13
Stephen tried to defend himself against
his accusers.
“Which of the prophets have not your
fathers persecuted? And they have slain them which showed before of the
coming of the Just One (Jesus Christ); of whom ye have been now the
betrayers and murderers:” -Acts 7:52
But, regardless of Stephen’s defense,
they still killed him. Through it all, Stephen would not give up on God.
He was filled with the Holy Spirit from head to toe, till the very end.
“And they stoned Stephen, calling
upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled
down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their
charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” -Acts 7:59-60
Even while they were killing him, Stephen
asked God to forgive them. This is the perfect example of the Holy
Spirit working through a Born Again Christian.
God the Father, God the Son and God the
Spirit. They are separate beings, yet they are one being. They all work
in unison to create the Holy Trinity of creation, sacrifice and eternal
life. Through one, we receive three.
If you are already a
Born Again Christian
then live the life and if you are not, accept Jesus and start the life.
God Bless all of you!
