  The Meaning of Life

The meaning of life has always been in the hands of mankind. The problem is man doesn't know how to decipher it. It's locked in a world of history, ancient stories and prophecy. The key to unlocking it is to simply unravel it's code. The mystery of that code lies within the pages of the Holy Bible. The following episodes will unravel the mystery of the meaning of life. Read the following words very carefully and think about what they mean.

Let's begin...

Episode I: Servanthood

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:" -Philippians 2: 5-9 ser-vant n. One employed to care for someone or his property. serve v. to take care of; to wait on; to prepare and supply; to complete a term of duty. The first piece of the code is the "Servanthood of Man." Once we accept the fact that we are all servants of the Almighty Lord and carry out our duties as a servant, only then will we even begin to solve the code."It is not some religious act that makes a Christian what he is, but participation in the suffering of God in the light of the world." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer"A maid, after she had been confirmed, was asked how she knew she was a Christian. 'Because,' she replied, 'now I do not sweep the dirt under the rugs.'" -John H. Miller"The true citizen, lofty of purpose, resolute in endeavor, ready for a hero's deeds, but never looking down on his task because it is cast in the day of small things." -Theodore Roosevelt"No man . . . who does not think constantly of how he can lift his brother, how he can assist his friend, how he can enlighten mankind, how he can make virtue the rule of conduct in the circle in which he lives." -Woodrow Wilson

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." -Matthew 7:12

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." -Romans 12:1 Servanthood is the key. But, not only a servant to God, but also a servant to man. Once we begin this ultimate relationship in being a servant then we will unlock the first door to the mystery.

"To be a Christian is not purely to serve God...it is also an ethic, a service to mankind...not merely a theology but also an anthropology." -Albert Dondeyne

Episode II: Body of Servants

Our next step to solving this code is to find a body of other servants/believers and to become a part of their journey. A church can be a great way to build your relationship with God and your servanthood. There, you can become involved with activities, teachings, discussions, work, witnessing and growing.

"A part of a whole, a citizen of the Kingdom of God, a child in the family of the Trinity, a cell in the organism of the Whole Christ and a member of the Mystical Body." -Fulton J. Sheen

"Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." -Matthew 18:20."Wherever we see the Word of God purely preached and heard, and the sacraments administered according to Christ's institution, there . . . a church of God exists." -John Calvin"A worshipping, witnessing, confessing community of forgiven sinners who rejoice in the grace that has been given them and who proclaim the word of judgment and redemption to those who have not acknowledged the sovereignty of God over their lives." -Kenneth Cauthen"The Body of Christian believers and transmitters of Christ's mind and spirit through the centuries." -Rufus M. Jones

"A Christian church is a body or collection of persons, voluntarily associated together, professing to believe that Christ teaches, to do what Christ enjoins, to imitate His example, cherish His spirit and make known His gospel to others." -R. F. Sample

Episode III: Building Faith

"The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." -Hebrews 11:1.

Keeping to the path of servanthood has to be "Faith." Without it we are nothing. Without faith we are zombies destined for eternal damnation. You may think that harsh of me, but deep down you also know it to be true. It's faith that keeps mankind going. It gives him his courage, willpower, strength and hope. Faith is our soul reaching out and communicating with our mind.

"The capacity of the soul to perceive the abiding...in the transitory, the invisible in the visible." -Leon Baeck

"An assent of the mind and a consent of the heart, consisting mainly of belief and trust." -E. T. Hiscox

"Faith is courage; it is creative while despair is always destructive." -David S. Muzzey

"The final triumph over incongruity, the final assertion of the meaningfulness of existence." -Reinhold Niebuhr

"A theological virtue that inclines the mind, under the influence of the will and grace, to yield firm assent to revealed truths, because of the authority of God." -Adolphe Tanqueray

"Faith without works is dead." -James 2:26.

To build faith is to first believe in God and His truths spoken of in the Bible. Once you believe then your faith will build as you stay straight on the road of servanthood.

"A certain beginning by which knowledge of the Creator begins to be produced in the rational nature." -John S. Erigena

"Faith is not faith without believing." -Thomas Jefferson

Episode IV: Your Place In This World

The code is now unraveling. The pieces are beginning to fall where they will. Through serving, building relationships with other believers and building our faith we come to the final step on the stairway. The Meaning of Life is the life we live for Jesus Christ. The meaning of life is life. It's a life given over to the will of God. The ultimate place we need to be in this world is in the light that shines from the face of our Messiah, Christ Jesus. One cannot just find the meaning of life in a book, video or music cd. You have to live according to the instructions that Jesus has given us through the words of the Bible. We must serve, attend/work in our church and build up our faith. It's not something that just happens overnight. It may take many years before we can fully understand the Meaning of Life.

Always remember, your place in this world is where God wants you to be. The first step in finding that place is to believe and accept Jesus Christ into your heart. If you would like to find salvation through Jesus CLICK HERE.
